Changes

I've been mostly absent from my blog for a variety of reasons, but that should change soon; I'm currently unemployed, and have nothing but time!

I left my job as lead instructor at the non-profit therapeutic riding center I worked for right before Thanksgiving. I'd been looking for other opportunities for some time; while I enjoyed the rewarding nature of therapeutic riding (and absolutely loved the horses, kids, and volunteers I interacted with daily), I was frustrated with the 50 hour work weeks, frustrated with being unable to work on my own horses, and frustrated with some of the changes the center was implementing. So I resigned. I spent an enjoyable holiday visiting with my family and friends back in Tennessee. Now I'm back in Oklahoma and ready to do...something.

The first order of business is finding a place for Moe and Gina to live. (They were living at my boss's house.) Currently, my friends Trista and Gage are graciously letting the horses share pasture with their herd of cattle. I don't want to intrude on their hospitality any longer than I have to, so I've been scouring the internet to find a place to board the ponies for less than $450/month each. I've found a few prospects that I'll go visit next week.

Other than riding my horses when they're in a suitable place, I've got a few other projects in motion: I'll be teaching lessons to an adult beginner, and Trista and I are very excited to begin developing a Pony Club in the Northeastern Oklahoma area!

Tulsa's currently bracing for a winter storm, so I'm staying toasty inside, cleaning the house, catching up on television, and playing all the video games. I'll keep y'all posted on how the barn hunt goes!
