I'm loving this week's blog hop topic from Beka at The Owls Approve: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Every horse seems to have at least three names: the "real" one, the barn one, and that special one. What are some of your pony's names?
Moe
- Real/Show Name: Richnfree (his Jockey Club name, which is an amalgam of his sire and dam's names- Richrichrich x Feelingfancyfree)
- Barn Name: Moe (I don't know where this came from; I bought him with the name and he sort of answers to it.)
- Special Names: Moe Moe Sillypants, Moezilla, Moe Moe, Moezy, Pony Pants
Gina
- Real/Show Name: Kimberly K (Jockey Club name); Imagine That (USEF registered name, which I use for shows)
- Barn Name: Gina (I'd guess this derives from Imagine That; she came with the name)
- Special Names: Eugena, Eugene, Gina Gina, Big G, Princess Pony, G, G Money
For fun, I thought I'd also include names my various other pets get called. Buttons, the half Corgi/half Dachshund has various nicknames, including: Turd Ferguson, Burrturrns (in your best Madea voice), and Lil' Asshole.
Lucky, the perpetually worried mutt, has pretty much turned solidly into Lurkee or Lurker (again, use your best Madea voice). He's also referred to as Fatty Lumpkin, Cat's Asshole (long story), Paul Newman, and Stinky Dog.
My two cats, Bear and Woody, are sometimes referred to as "BC" and "Woodrow Wilson" or "Woodson".
I love reading about animal names and nicknames- the more ridiculous, the better!

My parents have a cat named Moe and he inevitably is always MoeMoe!
Awww, Lucky!! His face is just... so worried.
You have a dorgi. Squee!
It's such a fun sound! That's how I always call him in from the field- "MOE MOE! MOE MOE WANT TREATS?"
He looks like that ALL. THE. TIME. Like, super worried. About EVERYTHING.
Dorgis are the most ridiculous of dogs! It's the ears, I think.
Your pets and their names are all awesome...also, lol, reading your list of Gina names the ridiculous UK Eurovision entry (it may have even won) sung by Gina G is now stuck in my head!
hahaha 'burrturrns' love it!!
I might buy your reins off you. Will you email a picture of them to me at aimee dot towell at gmail?
Oh, god, all of the fur children have like forty nicknames. If I had included them all, my post would have been a million pages long. Love Lurker! The facial expression makes me think of my squirrel mutt. :)
